Distribution
Origin tropical america and introduced into Java a long time ago and has now spread through out Java and Sumatra.
Ecology, along rivers and watercourses, on soggy sites; sometimes abundant; conspicuous by its large yellow flower.

As weed of Paddy Field Rice, propagation by seeds and hydrochorus.
The peruvian primrose forms dense colonies along the shore, then creeps into the water it impedes navigation, damages atructure and competes with native vegetation. This species is classaified as a category I invasive species in Florida, where it clogs numerous lakes and rivers and as a noxious weed by the goverment of Australia but not yet in Indonesia.
Control 2 application of 0.45 kg of 2.4 D in 91 litre of water at 4 week interval. Spot spray later. Other herbicide active ingredien Butachlor, 2.4 D, Fluorodiven, Oxadiazon, Propanil and Trifluralin.
