Pohon Benda alias Benda Tree Benda, tekalong, or applied are a type of fruit tree that is still a clan with jackfruit (Artocarpus).

The fruit is similar to embossed or kulur fruit, with protuberances similar to long and short soft spines, rather sticky.
Its scientific name is Artocarpus elasticus.
This fruit tree in Malaysia is also known as tekalong or applied, but it should not be confused with the application, Artocarpus odoratissimus.

Objects in various regions are also referred to by names such as malagumihan (Philippines); kalam (Mentawai); torop (Karo); bakil (Malay); tarok (Mink.); your, teureup (Sd.); bendhå (Jw.); kokap (Md.); taéng (Mak.). Other names in Kalimantan, including, applied, kapua, kumut, pekalong. Dayaks in the Pesaguan River and Sungai Gerunggang areas call it torap (for young trees), or hump for trees that have already borne fruit.

Benda Wood, in trade, are classified as applied wood; namely light wood with wood density (at 15% moisture content) between 365 - 640 kg / m3. As Heyne quoted, this wood is smooth or rather smooth, slightly dense to somewhat dense, rough fibrous, shiny, light yellow but eventually brown.

Durability is relatively low, including durable class III-IV; and easily damaged by termites. To be used as a pole or a house board, people prefer rather heavy applied wood. In addition, this wood is also used to make boats.

According to villagers in Java, several kinds of medicine can be made from the sap of this tree besides the inner bark. Also from the seeds, hair oil is obtained. Also, by the Mentawai tribe, steeping hot water from the tree tree objects is used to limit births (the dose is once a day for 3 consecutive days).

The skin of the object is efficacious as medicine for stomach ache, while the sap is efficacious as medicine for diarrhea. The object bark is mixed with breadfruit bark, then beaten, and then used as a belt to be tied to the stomach.

The leaves, fruit, and pepagannya contain saponins and polyphenols, flavonoids are also contained in fruit and leaves.
In Pattani, Thailand, leaf objects are used to treat roundworms by local use. Medium sized tree; rarely reaching a height of 45 (-65) m, branch-free trunks can reach 30 m and shaking branches up to 125 (-210) cm.
Banir reached a height of 3 m above the ground. A gray-brown papery, the inside yellowish to pale brown; yellowish white latex.
